INTRODUCTION
The Division of Surgery at Show Chwan Memorial Hospital and IRCAD offer advanced fellowship minimally invasive surgery (MIS), for a duration of minimum of 3 months.
Fellows can choose a field of interest from the following fields: Hepatobiliary & Pancreas, Colorectal, Endocrine, Bariatric, and Upper Gastrointestinal (UGI), Gynecologic.
Inpatient, outpatient, operative, and postoperative management of the entire spectrum of surgical cases is provided including open surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and robotic surgery in the aforementioned subspecialties.
In addition, there is guaranteed access to all courses, including all lectures, live & pre-recorded demonstrations, simulations, animal & cadaver work as well as research in image-guided surgery, surgical robotics, surgical education, and NOTES in IRCAD-Taiwan, a leading MIS training center dedicated to education and research.
Most of the time spend will be between Chang Bing Show Chwan Memorial Hospital and IRCAD-Taiwan. Depending on circumstances, visits to other hospital branches may also be arranged.
Through the courses offered at IRCAD-Taiwan, we offer one of the most advanced laparoscopic surgical services in Taiwan, where advanced pancreatic surgeries, major hepatectomies, esophagectomies, gastrectomies, bariatric surgeries, colorectal cancers are done routinely.
Gynecologic Minimally Invasive Surgery, the curriculum covers laparoscopic surgery, single-port surgery, robotic surgery (da Vinci or equivalent), hysteroscopy, and related perioperative care.
Each fellow will be assigned to one or multiple mentors who will ensure adequate training in clinical experience and research.

In addition to the above meetings, there will be educational sessions, including hands-on training in the lab in IRCAD, utilizing dry box, ex-vivo, live animals, or cadaver, surgical video viewing sessions, video editing exercises, and interactive didactic courses.
